While growing a Bonsai one must keep in mind that the overall effect which may be artistic in nature is of great significance. There is a need to make everything proportional. The size, leaves, fruits or flowers have to be taken care of individually and the same care is demanded out of all. Choosing the container for the plantation of the Bonsai tree can be a bit tricky as the shape of the container must relate in some or the other to harmony.
There are four kinds of Bonsai trees namely miniature, small in size, medium or large in size. The dwarfing of all the trees is done the pruning the roots and the branches too. The wiring of not only the trunk but also the branches is a deciding factor for the control of the shape of these trees. The bark generally becomes scarred if not removed at the right time so must be removed at the appropriate time to avoid scars on the barks.
These trees unlike many are not tough when it comes to cultivation. It is popularly believed that the Bonsai trees are dwarfed genetically, this is a myth. For the proper growth of a Bonsai one may resort to seeds or cutting. However use of seeds is recommended. The seed must be placed in a container with soil in which the roots can easily penetrate, after which some small watering on a frequent basis is required. The tree would need fertilizers that are rich in nitrogen and phosphorous.
