“Hibiscus” belongs to the genus of plants that comprises of about 200 species. It belongs to the family “Malvaceae”. The “Hibiscus” is the National flower of Malaysia and also Korea. It also enjoys the status of being the state flower of hawaii. The hibiscus plant bears large flowers with about 5 petals or more making up each individual flower.The size of each flower ranges from about 4 to 15 cms in breadth and come in a wide variety of colurs ranging from red, purple, yellow to white.

The hibiscus plant needs very little care and is a perennial plant which is easy to grow.For proper growth and healthy blooms the hibiscus plant requires warm conditions with good sunlight and a well draine rich soil.During the summers or hot periods , the hibiscus plant requires lots of water whereas the amount of water required during cold conditions is very less. The plant should not be over-watered as this can lead to the plant getting infected by fungal infections.The hibiscus plant must be provided with fertilizers and pesticides at regular intervals for healthy growth and protection from pests.
